David Green was retained by the Balfour Beatty Lam Joint Venture
(BBLJV) through Lam Environmental Services Lam as Environmental Team
Leader for the LCC300 project from November 2002 to June 2003.

David Green was initially engaged to conduct and
review of Environmental Permit Requirements and take up the role of
Environmental Team Leader for the first phase of the project (December
2002 to June 2003). David Green drafted the Environmental
Management Plan, Environmental Monitoring and Audit Manual, Waste
Management Plan and Drainage Layout and Management Proposals based on
the requirements of the Environmental Impact Assessment, Baseline
Monitoring Report and Further Environmental Permit. These
documents were updated as the project came underway.
Regular site inspections were carried out to ensure
that the Site Agents and senior management were kept updated with the
implementation of the Environmental Mitigation Schedule prescribed in
the EIA.

Monthly site audits and waste management audits were
carried out with the Independent Environmental Checker and the Resident
Engineer’s representatives. In addition David Green took up the
role of acoustic specialist for the study and review of operational
nose issues and also took the role of Registered Asbestos Consultant
for the abatement of asbestos from derelict structures around the site.
An Environmental Management framework was
established for the JV including all statutory, contractual and
training responses to ensuring compliance with the statutory
requirements of the Further Environmental Permit issued in March.
